Books From B&N

Hello again! Welcome back to my blog:)

It has been FOREVER since I have gone book shopping. Seriously, I haven’t been doing much reading since school started. I guess I got caught up in the books we were reading for school, so much that I forgot to immerse myself in a world that I actually want to be in. So, with gift cards saved from Christmas and birthdays, my mom and I journeyed to Barnes and Noble and I went book-crazy! I bought books I’ve wanted before, and picked some newly seen that I thought would shake things up a little. Hopefully this inspires you to get back into reading, and maybe take some of my suggestions!

My Life As Eva: The Struggle is Real

I have just started reading this book, and I already am loving it. It goes into detail of one of my favorite Youtubers and her life thus far. I love reading memoirs about people I know and like watching, and really appreciate how more of them are creating books to be read. It mentions her life through high school and what she had to encounter, embarrassing stages and all. I find this book to be very genuine and just a good book to read to get a different POV of being a teenage girl. I would recommend this to anyone who needs some laughs, a good cry, and just looking for someone to relate to.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

After I watched the movie (I didn’t really know it was a book before I watched the movie, so please spare me the lecture), I knew I had to get my hands on a copy to truly appreciate the world of peculiarness. I am reading this book currently, and I can’t deny that I’m hooked. I always love anything sci-fi/fantasy, and this book is no exception. I love imagining all of the characters and their talents, and having the movie as a reference really solidifies some of the scenes in my head.

This was a novel that I picked up just to try it; seems like any other classic vampire/werewolf teen novel. Although the reviews on the website don’t seem to be forgiving, I’m willing to give this book a try.

Milk and Honey

Y’all, I had to do it. Not only is this book aesthetically pleasing, but the words it contains are pure beauty. Allow yourself to immerse yourself and find comfort in the poetry. Def a good book to read to relax.

13 Reasons Why

I heard that this was soon-to-be a netflix series, and was very intrigued. The whole mystery whodunnit vibes really caught my attention, and I can’t wait to watch the show. Also, I hear that it’s directed by Selena Gomez?!

I hope that these books entertain me, and hopefully persuade you to go book shopping as well! As always, all the links are included. Happy Reading!

Hello! My name is Emma, and I am pleased to welcome you to my blog, established in June of 2016 (which was a journey in itself). This blog has been the product of creativity, love, and countless hours designing and redesigning. A little about me: I am a graduated senior, coming from my community college's Early College Program, which entailed me receiving my AA degree after I graduated high school! In my high school career, I had been Captain for four years on the girl's JV and varsity volleyball team, became Vice President of our chapter of Technology Student Association, Historian of both the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society, and received Gold and Silver Keys for the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for my photography. Outside of school, I was involved in my local youth groups for seven years (four mission trips down!), had the opportunity to travel to Washington, DC to attend the Washington Journalism and Media conference, and work at an independent living elderly home. In February 2019, I got accepted to the University of Florida (Go Gators!), and look forward to spending my next four years learning about business and journalism. I play guitar, write, and take/edit pictures in my free time, and absolutely love spending quality time with my friends and family. This is a place where I can talk about a variety of topics, from lifestyle, to faith, fashion, and personal subjects. What's in a name? That, my friends, is an easy answer. I have always been quite observant, and in recent years, especially within myself. Introspective means to be "inward-looking," and for me, that's just the simple truth. For this blog, it allows you a glimpse into everything and anything I come across, whether it be about life, fashion, or travel! This is the place to feel included. Caio! -Em
